Eli Strauss Jr. (aka Mayor Eli, Junior) is a point-of-view character in *[[New World City]]*. He is the "thirty-something, man-child" mayor of [[The City]], the son of [[Eli Strauss Sr.]], and the de facto head of the [[Strauss Party]]. He rose to the mayor's seat in the aftermath of his father's assassination in 1995 c.e. At the time of *[[New World City]]* (2000 c.e.), he is running for re-election. He is described as handsome with silver, coiffed hair. He often wears a blue suit, and never leaves the house without his many [[Artefacts|artefact]] rings on his fingers. He has a synth butler and valet named [[Dmitry]].
